It’s November: Eclipse season, midterm elections and soon, the holidays. We’re coming to the finish line of a tumultuous year. As we journey through November, we will also be working with the energies of Mars Retrograde that happened in October. Mars Retrograde can sometimes make us feel sluggish or can heighten feelings of burnout if we have been doing too much or pushing too hard.
The Blood Moon Eclipse, which is the highlight cosmic event of the month. Falling in the sign of Taurus, this Blood Moon Eclipse peaks early in the month on November 8 and colors the remaining weeks ahead. On a deeper level, this Eclipse may also help us to push past some blockages around feelings of worthiness, or issues around our worthiness may come up to be challenged or addressed. If you are dealing with a challenging situation around this Eclipse, see if you can focus on where feelings of being unworthy may be blocking you or creating the issue. See if you can claim your worth, get clear on what worthiness or being worthy means to you, and then proceed from that place.
Of course, November 8th is also Election Day here in the US. At this lunar eclipse, the moon will also make acute contact with Uranus, Saturn, Mercury and Venus, locking into a tense T-square alignment. The moon and volatile Uranus, the sign of sudden changes and revolution, will be a mere one degree apart in Taurus, traveling together on November 8. This could cause erratic behavior at the polls.
Venus has been traveling alongside the Sun in Scorpio for the last few weeks, infusing her energy deep into the core of who we are. While Venus traveled through Scorpio, she was helping us to dig deep and uncover what we truly value and yearn for in our lives. We may now have a deeper understanding of how love shows up for us, and how we need love to show up for us. Venus will now enter Sagittarius on November 16, which is a much lighter zodiac for the planet of Love. In Sagittarius, Venus will be helping us to return to a state of lightness and joy. Venus in Sagittarius helps us to focus on our friendship connections and create a more balanced social life.
On November 22, the Sun moves into the fire sign of Sagittarius, which is represented by the arrow of the archer. The arrow moves with intention, making its way to the target. While the arrow will eventually land where it’s supposed to, it’s really about the journey, and that is what Sagittarius Season can remind us of. We may have our goals and dreams, but if we are miserable as we are getting there, it may be time to adjust our approach. Sagittarius’s energy inspires us to find wisdom in the journey rather than just focusing on the end result. With the Sun moving out of the water sign of Scorpio and into the fire sign of Sagittarius, we may also feel a lightness emerging or the inspiration to learn new things.
This Sagittarius New Moon occurring on November 23 carries beautiful, light energy that will be a welcomed relief after all the intensity of the first half of the month. There is fantastic energy around this New Moon for manifesting, attracting abundance, and focusing on the positive side. In fact, if you are looking for a silver lining, the Universe will surely present one under this New Moon. This really is a lovely New Moon, so make the most of it by setting intentions, refreshing your space and energy, and thinking of ways to bring new inspiration into your life.
Also on the 23rd, Jupiter stations direct. This change of direction can mark a turning of the corner for certain projects and relationships. It’s also about our outlook and attitude–we enjoy increased enthusiasm. With Jupiter direct, our confidence in ourselves, our beliefs, and the universe is building. We are more lighthearted and ready to share ourselves and what we’ve learned with others. Our dreams and goals are in focus, and they’re moving along. This is the final direct turn in the sign of Pisces before Jupiter moves into Aries on December 20 not to return to Pisces until the year 2033.

We end on some good news: The outlook for Thanksgiving on November 24 looks pretty agreeable. The Sun will be in optimistic Sagittarius bringing with it a positive upswing. The Sagittarius new moon arrives and benevolent Jupiter (the ruler of Sagittarius) ends the four-month retrograde. With witty Mercury and playful Venus both in Sagittarius, Thanksgiving might just seem like it did in the old, pre-2016 election days. Fingers crossed!
